Mullet: Cultural Monuments, Zipline and Hotels

Mullet can be explored through several clearly distinct themes. Culture, nature, activities and cuisine provide different ways of approaching the area.

Culture

“The Bride’s Tomb” is a cultural monument in Mullet and stands in the middle of a field; it is in very good condition. “Tyrbja e Nuses” is located in the village of Mullet near Maxhara Church. According to local legend, “The Bride’s Tomb” was erected in memory of a young bride who was killed on her wedding day when two wedding processions accidentally crossed paths at the entrance to the village. The cultural monument can be part of a guided tour along the Persqop–Petrelë–Mullet route.

History

Maxhara Church is almost completely destroyed; its nearly completely destroyed ruins lie near the village of Mullet and are known locally as “kisha e Maxharës”. Experts suspect that Maxhara Church was built in the 13th or 14th century.

At Oda e Hasan Beut restaurant, you can try authentic Albanian dishes prepared with authentic organic products. Oda e Hasan Beut opened as a family-run business in 2007.

Nature

In the Petrelë area, the Erzen River offers opportunities for fishing. On hot days, sections of the Erzen river course in Petrelë are used for swimming and various river activities. The Erzen River valley has very rich biodiversity in the Petrelë area.

Activities

Zipline Albania is 1,250 metres long and runs over the Erzen River from Petrelë to the nearby village of Mullet. It can be reached via an exit from the motorway towards Mullet or via the road to Petrelë. At the Zipline Albania arrival point in Mullet, there is a simple bar offering water and soft drinks after the flight.
