Palasë lies on the slopes of Mount Çika. Palasa Beach is located at the entrance to the Albanian Riviera, near the Llogara Pass on the Ionian Sea coast. Palasë is the first coastal village after crossing the Llogara Pass. The natural surroundings of Palasa Beach form a landscape between the mountains and the sea. The combination of the mountain location, pass and coast gives the place names a clearly recognizable geographical structure.

Coast and Nature

Palasa Beach is also part of Palasë. The beach is characterized by small white stones and stretches for more than 1.5 km. The tourist infrastructure at Palasa Beach is suitable for families. Rrugët e Bardha is a beach in Palasë and a destination for coastal tourism. This means that both the specific beach landscape and another named beach are central to this stretch of coast.

The delta of the Palasë River is a Category III natural monument and a resource for nature tourism. Palasa Beach serves as an arrival point for air sports enthusiasts who parachute from the Llogara Pass. In addition to the beach, the natural area therefore includes the river delta and the arrival point on the coastal area.

Culture

At the center of Palasë stands a centuries-old plane tree. Palasë is characterized by narrow cobblestone streets. These streets lead to white houses with courtyards filled with pergolas and pots of carnations. The townscape is thus structured by the old central tree, the narrow streets and the described house gardens.

There are more than 1,500 Greek epigrams in Grama Bay. Grama Bay is accessible exclusively by sea.

History

Palasë was once a major port where trade was conducted. The route taken by Caesar with his army is accessible as a tourist destination for those interested in nature and history. The route “SHTEGU PALASE (RRUGET E BARDHA) – GJIRI I SHEN ANDREUT” leads from the delta of the Palasë River to Gjiri i Shën Ndreut Bay. Along this named route, the delta of the Palasë River and Gjiri i Shën Ndreut Bay meet as two clearly designated points.

Palasë is easily accessible from larger cities such as Vlora.
