Nature

Llogara National Park lies between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas and includes forests, pastures, meadows, and steep rocky terrain. The National Museum of Independence is located in the building where Albanian independence was declared and the first government was formed on November 28, 1912. The Historical Museum of Vlora displays original objects from antiquity to the present day, including material from Orikum, Amantia, Mavrovo, and Kanina.

Butrint combines archaeological monuments and Mediterranean nature in an exceptional cultural landscape. Kaninë Castle has defensive walls, towers, and archaeological remains that visitors can explore.

Cuisine and Regional Products

Vlora’s cuisine includes fresh fish, squid, mussels, wild herb pies, vegetable casseroles, lamb in a basket, white cheese, and hasudeja. The Bay of Vlora is an important mussel-farming area, while seaside restaurants serve fresh seafood.

Kanina and Dukat are associated with artisanally produced wine, made predominantly from local grape varieties. Olive oil production has a long tradition in the Vlora region, particularly in Dukat and Kanina.
