The Bagration Military-Historical Museum in Vaukavysk has existed since 1935 and holds more than 50,000 collection items. The Church of Saint Wenceslaus was built in 1848 in the late Classicist style and is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of Belarus. The Church of Saint Nicholas was built in 1874 from brick in the Russian Eclectic style.

History

Zamchišče is the site of the suburb of ancient Vaukavysk. Excavations uncovered the foundations of a church whose construction was halted at the foundation stage. The church foundations at Zamchišče are generally dated to the second half of the 12th century.

Gora Shvedskaya, the Swedish Hill, is home to an almost circular archaeological settlement platform. It is surrounded by an earth rampart that has been preserved in places up to 7 m high. Archaeological interpretations presumably locate the court of the Prince of Vaukavysk on Swedish Hill.

Landscape

Gora Shvedskaya is the highest part of a moraine ridge located 0.5 km southeast of present-day Vaukavysk and rises 18 m above its base. In the vicinity of Vaukavysk, Gora Shvedskaya is recorded as a named hill.
