Route No. 4 of the “Ozery” nature reserve is a 25 km ecotourism route from Azyory via Lake Beloe, an organized ecotourism campsite, the village of Podbeloye, and a dam to Lake Zatskovo. “The Preserved Pathway” is the only narrow-gauge railway route in Belarus that passes through a protected natural area. The route is a 20 km narrow-gauge railway line in the Aziory Republican Landscape Reserve, with a journey time of 2.5 to 3 hours. Along the way, “The Preserved Pathway” crosses the country’s second-longest bridge and the only bridge in Belarus that spans a lake. The route passes through forest marshes, oak groves, and meadows inhabited by distinctive bird and animal species.

Water

Lake Beloe is described as the largest natural lake in the region and forms part of a network of 16 interconnected lakes. The water route on Lake Beloe passes through ancient forests with 200-year-old oaks and tall pines, as well as past parabolic dunes that rise about 20 meters above the lake’s shores.

Things to do

The “Ozery” nature reserve has the “Touch of Nature” sensory educational trail for visually impaired visitors; the trail opened in 2018. The sensory educational trail has five tactile sections with gravel, soil, pine cones, wood chips, and a wooden walkway. The trail hosts themed tours and individual lessons for children. Information boards have Braille labels; during the trail, visitors receive audio players with audio guides.
