Laktaši between Thermal Spas, Cultural Heritage and Nature

Laktaši has a long thermomineral tradition. The thermomineral water of Terme Laktaši has been known for its healing properties since Roman antiquity; its modern development and use began in 1930. Laktaši offers a range of culture and nature experiences, as well as cycling opportunities, events and regional cuisine.

The events calendar also sets its own tone: Salon Stripa is an international comic festival in Laktaši and takes place every year in mid-April at the gallery of the Centre for Culture and Education in Laktaši.

Further sacred history can be found in nearby Mahovljani: the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi was built there in 1902 and is designated as a state-protected monument.

Nature

The nearby Slatina forest park has marked and gravel paths. Seventy plant species have been recorded in the forest park, including species subject to national and international protection.

There is a thermomineral spring with a temperature of over 40°C in nearby Slatina. Slatina is a recreational and tourist destination with a long tradition of spa and excursion tourism; pools with healing water are located in the centre.
