Stefanovo: Hotels and Accommodations

Stefanovo is located on the Dobrudzha Plateau in the eastern part of the Danube Hilly Plain, approximately 350 meters above sea level. Finding a hotel in Stefanovo can be part of planning your stay. The village is situated on the main road from Dobrich to Albena, 6 kilometers south of Dobrich.

In the center, a green, tree-covered park extends for approximately 2 kilometers parallel to Stefanovo’s main road. The local agricultural area has chernozem soils and produces wheat, corn, sunflowers, and beans.

Stefanovo is described as one of the oldest settlements in Dobrich Municipality. In Ottoman registers from 1526 and 1527, the settlement appears under the name Ayo Orman. The former name Ayorman is interpreted in local history as “Bear Forest.” In 1942, the settlement was renamed from Ayorman to Stefanovo.

The first Bulgarian private school in Stefanovo opened in 1905 in a village house.

Stefanovo has a bread oven established in 1967. Since 1993, Spiridon Spiridonov has preserved its baking tradition and recipe and continues to produce bread.

At the 2023 village festival, a St. George’s swing was used in front of the community center as a tradition for health and good luck.

A program was announced for the village celebration in Stefanovo on October 4, 2025, featuring the women’s vocal group “Stefanovska Kitka” and the dance ensemble “Horce.”

The program announced for the Dobrudzha Pumpkin Festival at Stefanovo Stadium on October 5, 2025, included a culinary exhibition of pumpkin dishes and desserts, as well as presentations of various pumpkin varieties. The inaugural edition of the “Fruits of Dobrudzha” festival in Stefanovo was also announced for October 5, 2025. Local products were to be presented, with pumpkin serving as the opening theme.
