Bizhovtsi: Hotels and Accommodation

Bizhovtsi is listed in the protected area of Dryanovo Monastery, code BG0000214. The Bizhovtsi part of the Bozhentsi protected area is designated for educational, mountain and ecotourism.

In nearby Bozhentsi, the Baba Rayna House Museum is located in one of the oldest surviving buildings in the village. The building dates from the second half of the 18th century; the museum houses an ethnographic exhibition from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Hiking and Cycling

The “Roman Road” eco-trail in nearby Bozhentsi runs through a low-lying forest along an ancient Roman road from the 4th. It begins in the village of Bozhentsi and is approximately 8 km long. Along the route there are rest areas with tables, benches, gazebos and fire pits, as well as information boards with route maps.

There are hiking and cycling routes throughout the municipality of Tryavna.

The Tryavna–Bizhovtsi–Genchovtsi route is 14.6 km long and is classified as having a low level of technical difficulty and low physical exertion. It takes approximately 1–2 hours and runs along paved and unpaved roads. At kilometre 5.1, it reaches Bizhovtsi and then continues along a paved road. The route indicates that some roads may disappear; GPS can help with navigation. One section offers expansive views towards Shipka and Buzludzha.
