Zornitsa: Hotels and Accommodations

Zornitsa is associated with the Aydogmush/Zornitsa military post during the Balkan Wars. Kule Fortress stands on Kule Peak, 0.51 km northwest of the center of Zornitsa. Those wishing to book a hotel in Zornitsa can continue their accommodation search afterward.

Kule Peak offers a direct line of sight to the Great Hasar and Little Hasarche fortresses to the northeast. The attack on the Aydogmush/Zornitsa post began on October 5 at 3:00 p.m.; the post building was destroyed. The nighttime attack on the post approached along a steep slope from the east, northeast, and west. In the same battle, Bulgarian troops reached the heights near the post during a nighttime attack at around 7:30 p.m.

Nature

Kule Peak offers views northeast toward the plain and Haskovo and northwest toward the valley of the Harmanliyska River and the Trakiets Reservoir.

The Stone Mushrooms natural landmark, locally known as Mantar Kaya, is located nearby between Beli Plast and Zornitsa on the Haskovo–Kardzhali road. Its rhyolitic volcanic tuff formations are approximately 38 million years old; the site was declared a natural landmark in 1974. The stems and caps of the formations reach up to 2.5 meters. Softer lower layers and harder upper layers shape the Stone Mushrooms through erosion occurring at different rates. The Trakiets Reservoir is designated for recreational fishing.
