Chaskowo: Hotels and accommodations

Chaskowo is home to the Monument of the Holy Mother of God, the world's tallest statue of the Virgin Mary with the Child. The monument is 32.8 metres high; the Chapel of the Nativity of the Mother of God is located at its base. It can be visited free of charge year-round and is accessible to visitors with disabilities. Culture and history

These include more than 22,000 ancient and medieval coins as well as an ethnographic collection with nearly 15,000 objects. The Kirko School is a richly decorated urban residence from the late 19th century in the centre of Haskovo and was later converted into a museum building. Its “Haskovo Revivalists” exhibition was expanded and renovated in 2024.

The Ivan Dimov Theatre was built in 1926 and extensively restored by the Municipality of Haskovo in 2004. The Old Clock Tower of Haskovo was built at the beginning of the 19th century as a symbol of the city and its economic development. The restored tower is 23 metres high and built of hewn Uzundzhovo stone.

Nature

The protected natural landmark of Boaza near Garvanovo lies within the Municipality of Haskovo; it includes a waterfall on the Banska River.

Also within the Municipality of Haskovo, the Zlato Pole protected area near Nova Nadezhda preserves a wetland beside the Maritsa River that supports threatened and protected plant and animal species.

Family and leisure

Kenana Zoo is located in Kenana Park and is described as one of Bulgaria's oldest zoos. It offers families and children the opportunity to see animals in a park setting.

Kenana Park has a recreational area with picnic benches, solar lighting, barbecue facilities, a basketball hoop, parking spaces, and waste bins.
