Access is by car as far as Lomnitsa. The route is not marked, includes overgrown sections, and runs mostly along unpaved roads. It is best completed with a GPS track. As it reaches the Serbian border, hikers are advised to inform the border police.

Culture and History

Lomnitsa's Church of St. George, dating from the Bulgarian National Revival period, was built in 1869. It is a large three-nave church with a western vestibule.

The church has an uncarved wooden iconostasis decorated with plant motifs. Its icons are only provisionally attributed to the painter Ivan Dospevski; among them is an icon of Christ dated 1869.
