Divchovoto: Hotels and Accommodation

Nature

The Boatin Reserve is located in the territory of Divchovoto and was declared a nature reserve in 1948. Those wishing to book a hotel in Divchovoto can then continue their accommodation search. Access within the Boatin Reserve is restricted to scientific visits and walking along marked trails, including for educational purposes.

Hiking and Trails

The Anchova-Bichkia Hut can be reached by car via Teteven, Cherni Vit, the road to Divchovoto, and the VEC turnoff. A marked hiking trail passes by the Anchova-Bichkia Hut in the direction of the Momina-Polyana Hut. This marked trail also leads toward the peaks of Paskal and Kartal.

The Momina-Polyana Hut can be reached by a vehicle with high ground clearance or via well-marked hiking trails. Desetkar is a bus stop on the Teteven–Divchovoto route; the route from there to the Momina-Polyana Hut is indicated as taking four hours.

Kostina is a flat, elongated meadow with parking areas and picnic spots. The yellow-marked “In the Footsteps of Benkovski” eco-trail follows part of the route from Kostina toward Divchovoto.

Classification

The Municipality of Teteven identifies Divchovoto as one of the lesser-known destinations it wants to promote.

Regional Cuisine

In the wider Teteven region, salamura is a fish soup made from small fish, garlic, and many spices. Krotmach combines roasted, peeled peppers, cheese, and strained yogurt. Byal Maz is prepared with cheese, fresh milk, and flour and can be served savory or sweet.
