Ribaritsa: Hotels and accommodations

Ribaritsa is a mountain resort in the Beli Vit Valley, with extensive forested areas and serving as a starting point for routes to the Zlatishko-Teteven Mountain, Mount Vejen, and the Tsarichina Reserve. Nature

Several trails begin directly in Ribaritsa. The Tsarichina Eco-trail starts in the Neftohima area, is 3 km long, and takes about two hours. It follows the boundary of the Tsarichina Reserve. At the summit, there is an observation tower offering views of the reserve and the main ridge of the Balkan Mountains.

The Cherniyat-Rut Eco-trail begins opposite Saint Ekaterina Hotel in Ribaritsa. It crosses a river via a rope bridge and climbs through deciduous forest to the Debeli-Dyal Ridge. In the upper section, there are birdwatching towers, as well as designated picnic areas. Cherniyat Rut is a protected natural landmark of national and international importance.

The trail to the Chapel of the Nativity of the Mother of God begins on the side road opposite Planina Hotel in Ribaritsa and is 780 m long. The Rock-Arch-Yakova-Cave Eco-trail starts in Kalugerski Dol in Ribaritsa and reaches the Rock Arch natural phenomenon. The route passes through mixed deciduous forest and open meadows with views of Mount Vejen. In the final section, ropes are provided at steep points.

The Way of the Voivode route runs 3 km from Ribaritsa along the Kostina River. The Teteven area is also suitable for hiking, picnicking, and cycling.

History

The Kostina historical area is home to a memorial monument to the revolutionary Georgi Benkovski, who was killed there on May 25, 1876. The monument was dedicated in 1908. Every year on May 25, Kostina hosts a memorial rally and a living-history reenactment.

The Kostina historical area includes a playground, an open-air stage, picnic areas, parking lots, pavilions, and benches.
