Culture
Kosovo has 63 cultural monuments, including five of national importance. Historic buildings include the Uspenie-Bogorodichno Church, which dates from 1851 and was built by master builder Hadji Georgi Stanchovski. The old school dates from 1889 and is of particular interest to tourists.
Kosovo’s old houses are built of stone, earth, wood, and lime and are 150, 200, or more years old. Cultural heritage features of interest to tourists include a water mill, a smithy, an ossuary, and many old houses. The Hadjiyska House was built in 1853 by master builder Hadji Georgi Stanchovski and is designated as a cultural monument.
The Hadjiyska House has been restored and opened to guests; its courtyard contains a tavern, and the building has guest rooms. The Hadjiyska House Gastro-Tavern is located in a renovated old barn in the courtyard of the Hadjiyska House and offers contemporary cuisine by Bar Samar in a Rhodope and National Revival setting.

History
In the 17th century, Kosovo was settled by settlers from Staro Selo near the Byala Cherkva Monastery. Most of the surviving houses date from the village’s heyday in the late 19th century.
Nature and Trails
Kosovo is surrounded by mountain ridges whose nature is described as unspoiled. Its hamlets are crossed by four streams that carry water year-round.
