The Church of St. Martin the Bishop in Brušane is classified as immovable cultural property in the category of sacral architectural heritage. After the liberation of Lika, a pre-Ottoman church stood in ruins, and a new Church of St. Martin was mentioned toward the end of the 17th century. A Glagolitic inscription dated 1512 can be found on the stone threshold of this church.

The historic Karolinška Road from Gospić to Bag passed through Brušane. The Gospić–Karlobag road was built in 1787 and later improved with sections of serpentine bends between 1844 and 1850.
