Gromača: Hotels and Accommodation

Gromačka Cave, also known as Špilja za Vlakom, is a protected geomorphological natural monument and an independent site within the ecological network. It is 2,172 metres long, hydrologically active, and contains underground streams as well as occasional underground lakes. Inside, there are extensive underground chambers, winding channels, and calcite formations. The cave was first publicly discovered in 1985.

Gromačka Cave contains prehistoric human footprints, including those of children, estimated to be up to 12,000 years old. There are also fragments of prehistoric pottery dating from approximately 5000 to 4000 BC.

Culture

Gromača is associated with the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The Uskrs u Primorju programme took place at Lokva na Gromači in 2022. It included the sale of local products as well as workshops featuring traditional pomice, olive branches, and decorated eggs.
