Mihanići: Hotels and accommodations

Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Mihanići can continue their accommodation search afterward. The village is also the starting point of the longest marked trail to Sniježnica; it begins at an elevation of around 300 metres above sea level.

Nature and trails

A marked hiking trail connects Mihanići with Kuna and Sniježnica. The ascent from Mihanići to Sniježnica begins through a very narrow corridor and leads through rock fissures in places. Much of the ascent follows an Austro-Hungarian route that was built in the early 20th century to transport cannons to St. Elijah.

The Ćiro trail from Vojski do to Mihanići is a flat 3.5-kilometre route; the walking time is approximately 30 to 40 minutes each way. The path to Mihanići offers views of the hills and the Konavle field, villages, and the sea. Its starting point is signposted, and parking is available there.

Culture and history

The Mihanići Tunnel is 417 metres long and carved into the bedrock. There is a drinking-water spring inside it. The tunnel was the most challenging structure on the railway section that ended in Montenegro.

The Mihanići segment of the former railway is described as an outstanding industrial monument from the late 19th century. The water-supply route of the Epidauritan aqueduct also passes through Mihanići between Pridvorje and Gabrile.

Local offerings

OPG Pero Šiša offers a shady terrace in Mihanići for tasting Modrina wine made from Plavac mali, local brandy, orange-peel sticks candied with sugar, and sugar-roasted almonds. Fresh vegetables are also sold.
