Zastrazisce: Hotels and Accommodations

Culture and History

On Vela Glava, Zastražišće has an Illyrian hillfort dating from around 1000 BC, as well as the Anđelinović Tower from the 17th century in Postranje and the Chapel of St. Barbara, which was first mentioned in 1407 and is considered one of the oldest chapels on Hvar.

Around Zastražišće there are circular stone field shelters known as “trimi,” as well as dry stone walls. The tradition of dry-stone construction is described as part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage.
