Krnica: Hotels and accommodations

Krnica is located on a hill above the sea and is surrounded by forests, meadows, and vineyards. Small coves with rocky beaches are scattered along the Krnica Channel. Coast and water

The rocky beaches on the northern coast of Krnički Porat can be reached after a few minutes' walk via the white road. According to reports, fragments of Roman amphorae are located on the seabed near Krnički Porat.

Culture and history

The Roman Via Flanatica passed through Krnica on the route from Pula to Liburnia. The parish church of St. Roch dates from 1631 and features Baroque elements. The site of the Church of St. Theodore associated with Krnica is first mentioned in 690. It contains votive altars dedicated to Melosokus. Archaeological finds at this site include prehistoric pottery as well as ceramic and glass fragments from Late Antiquity. Krnica also has a small Church of St. Joseph with a painting by V. Trevisan.

Local life

Rokova is a traditional public celebration in Krnica held on the occasion of the feast of Saint Roch. At sunrise, visitors can buy freshly caught fish in Luka Krnica. The Krnica Summer Music Nights & Istrian Products Fair offers local products, Istrian delicacies, and handcrafted artworks. For 2026, this event was scheduled to take place every Tuesday in the square in Krnica.

In spring, visitors can gather wild asparagus as well as aromatic and medicinal herbs in Krnica. In autumn, they can gather mushrooms, grapes, and olives.
