Kringa: Hotels and Accommodations

Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Kringa can continue their accommodation search afterward. Kringa’s central cultural heritage area includes the parish church of St. Peter and St. Paul, dating from 1787, three older churches – including St. Anne’s Church from 1558 – as well as a rustic Calvary from 1876. The older churches and the Calvary can be visited along a short circular trail.

Kringa is associated with the documented legend of Jure Grando. He is described as the oldest European vampire recorded under his personal name. The story was written down by Janez Vajkard Valvasor and concerns a resident of Kringa.

Kringa is located on the site of an Iron Age hilltop settlement and a later Roman fortification. Archaeological finds include unusual Stone Age idols.
