Bačva: Hotels and Accommodation

Bačva is located on the official road cycling route 158 Dolina Divova. The challenging circular route is 93 kilometres long and runs from Poreč through towns in the Istrian hinterland, including Višnjan, Motovun, Oprtalj, Grožnjan and Vižinada.

Culture

Bačva has two documented historic churches. At the entrance to the village stands the Romanesque Church of Saint James. It was built in the 12th century and contains 16th-century frescoes depicting a Christological cycle, the Annunciation and God the Father. The key is kept in the first house next to the church. About 100 metres away is a church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, dating from the 14th or 15th century.

The Church of Sveti Ivan is located in the immediate vicinity of Bačva. In the wider region lies Dvigrad Castle. The surrounding area of Bačva also includes Mount Gruja Vrh, the island of Otočić Sveti Nikola, the Church of Sveta Ana, the Euphrasian Basilica, and the islands of Otočić Fržital and Otočić Veliki Školj.
