The Church of Saints Blaise and Fusca in Barat was built on the initiative of parish priest Giovanni Declich and blessed by the Bishop of Pula in 1770. Local tradition holds that the inhabitants of Barat came from the hinterland of Dubrovnik. This probably explains their veneration of Saints Blaise and Fusca as patron saints.
