Lumbarda: Hotels and Accommodation

Lumbarda’s beaches include Pržina, a shallow, south-facing sandy bay protected from northern winds, and Bilin žal, a sandy beach overlooking the Pelješac Peninsula and the Korčula Archipelago.

Beaches and Water

At Lumbarda Marina, visitors can rent boats, jet skis and kayaks and attend a windsurfing school. Lumbarda’s central marina has 100 berths.

Cafés and restaurants are located near Pržina Beach; there is also a large car park directly next to the beach. Tatinja is a sandy beach a few minutes from the centre of Lumbarda, overlooking Vrnik, Gubavac and Sveti Ilija above Orebić. Water sports can be arranged from the pier near Bilin žal Beach.

Culture and Cuisine

A colony was founded in Lumbarda in the 3rd century. The “Lumbardian Psephisma”, which describes the foundation, is kept in the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb.

The programme Lumbarajske užance introduces visitors to local customs, dances, songs, crafts, artists, dishes and wine. Local taverns, restaurants, agrotourism establishments and farm households serve specialities made from fresh seafood and produce from Lumbarda’s gardens.

Lumbarda has several well-preserved fortified summer villas from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Landscape and Trails

The Ražnjić Trail leads to a lighthouse and a small landing stage at Cape Ražnjić. From there, the trail offers views of southern Pelješac, Mljet, Glavat Lighthouse and Lastovo.

Gornje Blato contains most of Lumbarda’s olive groves and extensive dry-stone walls.

Getting There

The main routes to the island of Korčula include car ferries, passenger ferries, catamarans, buses and speedboats. Connections operate via Vela Luka, the town of Korčula, Ploče–Trpanj–Orebić, Orebić, Hvar and Dubrovnik.
