Pupnat is a historic highland settlement surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and dense forest. The parish church of Our Lady of the Snows was first mentioned in 1393 and expanded between 1600 and 1620. It contains the sarcophagus of the priest Marko Tvrdeić. The adjoining brotherhood house displays exhibits on the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Kumpanjija of Pupnat.

The Kumpanjija of Pupnat is a traditional chain sword dance. It is performed on August 5 for the Feast of Our Lady of the Snows, the patron saint of the settlement.
