Dobrinj: Hotels and Accommodation

Dobrinj's written history begins with a Glagolitic document from 1100, known as the Charter of Dragoslav. The town preserves Glagolitic manuscripts, brotherhood and notarial books, stone Glagolitic inscriptions, as well as parts of the liturgy in Old Church Slavonic. History and Culture

The Sacred Museum Collection is housed in the parish rectory and showcases Dobrinj's cultural and religious heritage. It preserves a copy of the Charter of Dragoslav from 1100, as well as a 15th-century Veneziano antependium embroidered with gold by Katarina Frankopan.

The Ethnographic Collection in Dobrinj presents island life over nearly 200 years through original exhibits and photographs. It can be visited in summer and at other times by prior telephone appointment with the Municipality of Dobrinj.

The Church of St Stephen is one of Dobrinj's oldest religious and cultural monuments. A wooden porch called a Cergan was built in front of the parish church. The altarpiece entitled Coronation of Mary in the Church of St Stephen has been declared a cultural monument. A church in Dobrinj was declared a cultural monument in 1974.

The Church of the Holy Trinity, locally also known as St Anthony's Church, has in recent years been used especially in summer as an exhibition and gallery space. A relief altarpiece entitled Coronation of the Virgin Mary dates from the early 16th century.

Festivals

Stipanja is celebrated in Dobrinj on 3 August as the feast of the patron saint of the parish and municipality. The festivities include a concelebrated Mass in Old Church Slavonic, afternoon folklore performances in the town square and an evening folk festival.

Nature and Surroundings

Near Dobrinj, Biserujka Cave is equipped to receive visitors. A nature trail also runs nearby from Biserujka Cave to Slivanjska Bay. Meline lies between Soline and Čižići and is known for its healing mud.
