Culture and History

The Municipality of Dobrinj is one of seven local self-government units on the island of Krk.

The written history of the Dobrinj area dates back to 1100, when the Listina slavnog Dragoslava was created.

The Dobrinj area preserves material heritage. This includes an old town with an autochthonous defensive form and the local square Place, which is lined with plane trees.

Hiking

A 13.9-kilometer circular route from Kras through the Dobrinj area follows the dry-stone walls near Vela gromača, passes the ruins of Dolovo and runs along the historic Glagolitic Trail to the Church of St. Peter.

The Dobrinj area can be reached by ferry or car and is connected to the mainland by a bridge.
