Gabonjin: Hotels and Accommodation
Gabonjin is an older settlement in the Dobrinj area, documented since the 14th century and located below Sveti Petar Hill with its church. The Glagolitic Alley leading to the church is described as a distinctive cultural feature. In the village’s Etno Workshop, small souvenirs are made on wooden and stone surfaces decorated with carved Glagolitic letters.
Culture and History
The 200-metre-long Glagolitic Alley (Put glagoljaša) can be walked from Gabonjin towards St. Peter’s Church and is an educational experience focusing on the Glagolitic script. The Glagolitic Park in Gabonjin was opened in 2010 as an initiative of the local community to preserve and present the Glagolitic script and its historical era. It comprises sixteen stone sculptures depicting significant moments in local and national history, as well as people associated with the Glagolitic tradition.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus stands in the centre of Gabonjin and was built in the mid-20th century.

The 13.9-kilometre circular hiking trail “Tracing the Legends and Abandoned Villages of the Dobrinj Area” reaches the Glagolitic Park in Gabonjin. A hiking trail near Gabonjin also includes a Glagolitic Trail with 37 Glagolitic letters.
The B-426 cycling route is 39.4 kilometres long. It is designated as a moderately difficult road route and runs along an existing paved road.
The B-426 cycling route “Through the heart of Krk Island” passes through Gabonjin and starts and ends at the Krk Sports Centre.
