Culture
Praputnjak is associated with the Bakarski prezidi, a terraced cultural landscape created and restored by local residents; anyone wishing to book a hotel in Praputnjak can continue searching for accommodation afterward. The Praputnjak–DolÄina area was declared a cultural heritage site in the 1970s.
The present-day settlement pattern of Praputnjak reflects the arrival of the Karolina Road around 1730. Scattered hamlets were grouped around the DolÄina karst valley along the trade route; in addition to agriculture, services also developed.
Nature and Trails
The Bakarski prezidi offer views over steep vineyard terraces built into the karst slopes, dry-stone walls, and the sea. An information area explains the values of this site.
A short themed trail leads uphill from the Bakarski prezidi to ÄŒrni vrh. Along the trail, information panels provide details about the surrounding landscape and flora. There is also a dry-stone fortification associated with the ancient Liburnians.
