History

Popova Luka is recorded in documents from 1222/1228. In a land register from 1396, the toponym S. Spas appears; it may have referred to a Church of the Holy Savior, for which no later historical traces exist. The Church of the Holy Trinity was mentioned in 1805, and in 1893 a new church with the same patronage was built at the same location.
