History
Janjina is described as a historic settlement on the Pelješac peninsula. The town was first mentioned in the 10th century and played the role of a commercial and cultural center in the Middle Ages.

The Municipality of Janjina is one of four municipalities on the Pelješac peninsula in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. It is located on the western side of the peninsula between Ston and Trpanj.
