Culture and history

The parish church of St. Nicholas was built in 1452 and stands on a large rock in the center of Ostrvica. Its vault is pointed-arch Gothic.

To the south of Ostrvica lies the Church of St. Anthony. It was built in 1708 from hewn stone; its façade features an octagonal stone rose window.

The Church of St. Rocco was built in 1920 from finely hewn stone on the ruins of an older church. It is a votive church dedicated to St. Rocco; St. Rocco is described as a protector against epidemic diseases.

The Krcatovići–Miri site is associated with a late antique fortified building complex dating to the 5th and 6th centuries.

Landscape and trails

The Illyrian River Trail begins in Donja Ostrvica and runs mostly parallel to the Cetina, approximately 100 meters above the riverbank.

An eastern section of the Illyrian River Trail toward Gata is a 2.5-kilometer educational ecological circular trail.

The St. Leopold Mandić Trail ends in Ostrvica at the late antique building.
