Hlavenec: History and Routes in Central Bohemia
A precise historical reference point in Hlavenec is the monument to Emperor Charles VI: the inscription at the entrance gives 1723–1724 as the years of construction and Matyáš Braun as the sculptor.
Culture and History
The monument depicts Saint Hubert, hunting dogs, and a stag with golden antlers. It stands in a field approximately 0.3 km from the edge of Hlavenec; the monument and the enclosed property are protected.
The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary developed from a bell tower dating from 1815. Its replacement bell, Marie-Anna, was consecrated in 1948.
In Hlavenec, a monument commemorates those who fell in the First World War. It was unveiled on 5 July 1930 and created by the sculptor Emanuel Zentner, who came from Staré Boleslav.
The hunting lodge of Rudolf II, also called Hubertus, stands at the highest point of Hlavenec and is visible from a distance. It had four turrets; their masonry sections have survived to this day.

The procession began at 12:30 p.m., the dance performances at 4:00 p.m., the auction and felling at 5:30 p.m., and the dance at 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, 20 August 2022, a Hlavenecká poutní mše was scheduled to take place in the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Routes and Cycling Connections
The red-marked hiking trail from Kostelec nad Labem to Lysá nad Labem passes through Hlavenec and branches off in the village centre to the monument to Emperor Charles VI.
Cycling route No. 0039 “Císařská lesní” enters the Hlavenec area via road III/2752, switches to a partly surfaced farm track in the southern part of the settlement, and leaves the area at the western edge of the village in the direction of the swimming pool in Lhota.
Route 8156 from Hlavenec, rozcestí, to Dolní Slivno branches off from route No. 0039 as a local connection and runs northwards along road III/2752 through the centre of Hlavenec.
The “Krajinou Rudolfa II.” educational trail is marked out in Hlavenec and partly runs together with the red-marked hiking trail and cycling route No. 8156.
