Landscape and Watercourses

The Zlonínský stream flows through Nová Ves. At the eastern edge of Nová Ves, the Měšický stream flows into the Zlonínský stream.

Culture and History

In the center of Nová Ves stands the Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul; it was consecrated on June 29, 1934. A small bell tower dating from 1934 also stands on the village green in Nová Ves. Two cast-iron crosses mark additional points in the village: one on a concrete pedestal stands at the intersection of the roads to Mratín and Jiřice, while a second, identical cross stands on the outskirts of Nová Ves on the road to Měšice.

Archaeological traces are also part of the village's history. Finds from the Late Eneolithic period were discovered during the construction of the road toward Mratín in the second half of the 1920s.

Traditions and Local Life

The Easter rattle procession in Nová Ves takes place from Maundy Thursday to Holy Saturday. During the traditional Easter rattling, compliance with established rules is supervised by leaders known as “Páni”.

The TJ Sokol Nová Ves sports complex is located at the northern edge of the settlement, on the cadastral boundary with Čakovičky, by Žebrák Pond.
