Kostelec nad Černými lesy Chateau was built on the site of a 13th-century royal castle as a Renaissance chateau and later redesigned in the Baroque style.

The Museum of Ceramics in Kostelec nad Černými lesy displays a collection by Michaela Třeštík and Jana Novák containing more than 1,300 ceramic pieces. The Vondráčkova factory has a newly built ceramics workshop open to the public; there, the ceramics workshop offers the general public courses teaching how to work with clay, throw on a potter’s wheel, and glaze.

Ceramic Day is held regularly on the last Saturday in May.

History

The Černokostelecký pivovar complex is an exceptionally well-preserved ensemble of industrial architecture featuring unique technology from the era of the First Republic. The National Museum of Brewing is located in the unique, authentic spaces of the historic brewery, malthouse, and malt mill in Kostelec nad Černými lesy. Černokostelecký pivovar offers beers from various Czech microbreweries.
