Doubek: Hotels and Accommodation
A direct connection through the village and its surroundings is provided by cycling route 8206: it connects Babice, Doubek and Zahrady over 13 km. Doubek is also served by bus routes 364, 366 and 435.
Village Life
Community life includes TJ Čechie Doubek, which currently competes in mandatory matches in the IVth district division. The SDH Doubek volunteer fire brigade regularly organises various cultural events for the municipality’s residents.
The Hostinec Doubek inn is also part of the village’s history: it was founded in 1930. In summer, it offers cyclists a large garden with covered seating.
Culture and History
Doubek has always belonged ecclesiastically to the Hradešín parish. There, the Church of St George, dating from the 12th century, is still used for services today. The former two-class school building from 1906 now houses the municipal office and the local library.
The Doubek Municipal Chronicle was begun on 22 August 1915 and has been continued intermittently. The origin of the bell tower in Doubek can be dated to 1766.
Nature
The Lom Na plachtě natural monument can be reached via the road leading through Třebohostice towards Doubek. Several hills lie in the vicinity of Doubek: Dolánka [Tismice], Vysoký les [Klokočná], (Na Spravedlnosti) [Český Brod] and (Ny Vyhlídce) [Český Brod-Štolmíř].
