Krňany: Hotels and Accommodation

The municipality of Krňany comprises the smaller cadastral areas of Krňany, Třebsín and Teletín. It lies near the confluence of the Vltava and Sázava rivers, which have locally shaped dramatic terrain with steeply incised rocky banks. The municipality is part of the Střed Čech Nature Park.

Nature and Landscape

The Kobylí dráha Nature Reserve extends partially into the municipality. It has the character of a gorge-like slope and is rich in many thermophilic plant species.

Trails and Viewpoints

Třebsín, part of the municipality of Krňany, is a hub of the Posázavská stezka trail and touristically attractive routes in the central Vltava region. From there, a yellow-marked hiking trail leads to Smetana's Lookout. The Smetana's Lookout near Třebsín is named after Bedřich Smetana, who appreciated this place. It lies above the Štěchovice Reservoir; from there, visitors can look across to the opposite bank with the Ztracená naděje tramp settlement.

Culture and History

Old raftmen's paths are still visible in Krňany and are protected as monuments. The listed chapel in Teletín houses a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The chapel with a small bell tower in Třebsín has been protected as a monument since 3 May 1958 and probably dates from the second half of the 18th century.

Local Development

In 1912, Rudolf Strimpl, administrator of the Chlistov farm in Teletín, brought planting material for field strawberries from the USA to the Krňany area; strawberry cultivation subsequently developed there.

Event

Třebsínské zvonění was announced for 5 July 2025 as a traditional music festival for the whole family, to be held in the meadows above Třebsín.
