Krásná Ves: Local History, Culture and Events

Krásná Ves lies approximately 9 km west of Mladá Boleslav. The village is situated in a picturesque landscape and is a destination for tourists as well as holiday-home owners seeking relaxation. Krásná Ves has borne its current name since 1922. Between 1184 and 1215, Krásná Ves was first mentioned in written sources as property of the Archbishopric of Prague. Both dates are important chronological reference points in the village’s history.

At the eastern edge of Krásná Ves stands a Baroque barn from the 18th century, preserved as the remains of a former manor farm. The barn and the gate are the only surviving structures of the former manor farm. The barn has an original single-leaf Baroque door. There is also a memorial cross located almost in the centre of Krásná Ves.
