Nová Ves U Bakova: Hotels and Accommodation
Cycle Route No. 241 passes through Nová Ves u Bakova; the town is also part of the Pojizerské cycling network. The tourist route “Along the Ruins by the Jizera River” is connected to a signpost near Nová Ves u Bakova and runs there along Route 241.
Nature and Tradition
The Lovotín Forest, with the Zlodějka Cave, is located in the cadastral area of Nová Ves u Bakova. According to local tradition, the famous robber Václav Babinský stayed in this cave. The Rečkov area comprises transitional and quaking bogs, as well as base-rich fens. Rečkov is home to the largest population of Siberian ligularia (Ligularia sibirica) in the Czech Republic.
History and Remembrance
Nová Ves u Bakova was founded in the second half of the 16th century by the Lords of Zvířetice. In 1908, Eduard Štorch and Karel Sellner discovered a flint blade from the Old Stone Age in the cadastral area of Nová Ves u Bakova. Seven urn fields dating from the Late Bronze Age were also discovered there.
A memorial plaque commemorating Alois Štorch is located on the gable of a family house at Nová Ves u Bakova 38. It states that he was executed by Austrian executioners in Riva on 5 July 1918.
