Okor: Hotels and Accommodation

In the valley of the Zákolanský potok lies Okoř Castle, a Gothic castle ruin. At the highest point of the ruin, the remains of a large tower with a chapel have been preserved.

Getting there

Okoř is easily accessible by integrated public transport. Noutonice railway station is served by lines S54 and T4 and is located approximately 2.5 km from Okoř.

Nature and trails

The protected Okolí Okoře a Budče nature park also extends across the area around Okoř. A path along the Zákolanský potok leads to the Okoř Castle ruin. Okoř is considered a starting point for walks in the surrounding area in both summer and winter.

The “Putování českou historií okolo Okoře” route is described as moderately challenging; it involves more elevation gain downhill than uphill. Halfway along, it passes Okoř Castle and runs through the valley of the Zákolanský potok to the Přemyslid hillfort of Budeč.

A cycling route approximately 12.5 km long from the outskirts of Prague leads via Purkrabský háj, Přední Kopanina, Tuchoměřice and Malé and Velké Číčovice to Okoř.

Events and culture

The Svatováclavská slavnost at Okoř Castle is scheduled as an all-day event for 19 September 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It includes knightly combat, competitions for children, a historical market, as well as music, singing and dancing.

The summer programme in Okoř includes markets in the meadow, as well as fencing, theatre and musical performances at the castle. The cultural programme in Okoř includes the theatre performance “Bílá paní na vdávání” on 30 August 2026 at 7:00 p.m.

Outdoor activities

In suitable weather, a meadow in Okoř is suitable as a picnic spot for families and offers a view of the castle.
