Procevily: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture and Landscape

Above the settlement of Pročevily stands the Church of St. Barbara on a hilltop at an elevation of 591 m, near the road between Bubovice and Vševily. The church offers far-reaching panoramic views. It is designated as an immovable cultural monument; in addition, the entire settlement area of Pročevily, including the nearby Church of St. Barbara on the hilltop, is designated as an area of urban value.

Townscape and History

Pročevily lies approximately 4.5 km west of Březnice as the crow flies, at a turnoff from Bubovice. The compact structure of an irregularly arranged village settlement has been preserved. In the 14th century, Pročevily belonged to the archiepiscopal estate of Rožmitál.

The Church of St. Barbara began as a chapel built by Jesuits from Březnice. Pročevily School was established near the church; classes began there in 1835. In 1913, children from Pročevily, Volenice, Vševily, and the hamlets of Nouzov, Cihelna, Na drahách, and Lesní chalupy attended this school. Next to the church is a small cemetery for people who died in Pročevily, Volenice, and Vševily.

Nature and Trails

Altán Hill and its surroundings are easiest to reach from Pročevily or Volenice. The small settlement of Nouzov on the edge of the forest can serve as a starting point for a hike to the summit of Altán; the best way to get there is from the Church of St. Barbara in Pročevily.

Municipal Notices

On May 26, 2026, the municipality invited people to visit the Church of St. Barbara and asked them to remove valuables from the graves near the church wall.
