Culture and History

The Hornické muzeum Příbram presents historic mining buildings and underground workings associated with silver, uranium and other ores. The Muzeum zlata Nový Knín covers gold mining, local crafts, industrial history and gold-panning championships.

Březnice Castle presents the history of noble families and artistic styles from the Renaissance to the 19th century. The Lokšanská Library in the castle was founded in 1558 and is one of the oldest libraries in Bohemia. Březnice Castle also has a Renaissance garden and an English landscape park.

Svatá Hora is a national cultural monument; the complex is open for individual visits. A covered staircase connects the centre of Příbram with Svatá Hora and is described as an ascent with 365 steps to the Coronation Altar. The open-air museum preserves rural architecture from the mid-17th century to the early 20th century. The Antonín Dvořák Memorial is located in a Neo-Renaissance château with an English landscape park.

Cycling Routes and Water

The Fabiánova educational trail connects points of interest in the Podbrdy area for tourists and cyclists. A route to the Pilská Reservoir leads to a seating area with views over the water and to a game reserve.

The Orlík Reservoir enables boating, rowing, pedal boating, surfing and other water activities. Boat traffic on the Orlík Reservoir offers sightseeing cruises to Zvíkov Castle and Orlík Château.
