Sázava: Hotels and accommodations
Sázava combines monastery history, glassmaking, river scenery, and marked trails. Sázava Monastery is a national cultural monument. The “Svatoprokopská Sázava” tour leads visitors into the chapter house, the cloister with wall paintings that are being restored, and the refectory.
Culture and history
The monastery also includes a northern monastic garden that is freely accessible. The foundations of the Church of St. Cross from 1070 are located there. Another historical highlight is Huť František: it is the oldest glassworks in Sázava and was classified as an immovable cultural monument because it is one of the few glassworks preserved in their original condition.
The Jiří Voskovec Memorial Hall documents the history of the Voskovec family, his student years, the famous era of the Osvobozené divadlo theater, and his time in the United States. The U Martina cultural complex is located in a secularized Baroque-rebuilt church that was used for cultural events such as concerts, author readings, and exhibitions.
Traces of Saint Procopius
At the Sázava Monastery complex, visitors can discover the pilgrimage site of St. Procopius on the “Český patron svatý Prokop” tour. The tour includes the Gallery of St. Procopius with items from the monastery treasury, including a cup and a spoon that allegedly belonged to St. Procopius. It ends with a descent into a restored crypt containing the mortal remains of St. Procopius.
The Vosovka spring is also a sight worth visiting in Sázava. It is located in the Lázně area, where a Baroque chalice associated with legends about St. Procopius and the Devil can be seen.
River and trails
The Sázava River flows through the town of Sázava, and approximately 208 km of the river is navigable. For canoeing trips, the stretch from Český Šternberk to Sázava is 21 km long.
Sázava is also situated on the Posázavská stezka, a marked hiking trail. It runs from the confluence of the Sázava and Vltava rivers via Pikovice and Čerčany along the Sázava to its source near Žďár nad Sázavou. The Cyrilometodějská stezka cycling route is 40 km long.

Sázava is located on railway line 212. Sázava zastávka stop and Sázava–Černé Budy railway station are about 1 km from Sázava Monastery.
