Šetějovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Šetějovice is located on the left bank of the Želivka Reservoir. The Želivka European Site of Community Importance (EVL) includes Šetějovice in its list of associated municipalities.

Nature

The Švihov Dam on the Želivka and a section of the river located upstream of the dam form a unique habitat for a stable, reproducing population of asp (Leuciscus aspius).

At 504 metres, Na Vrchách is the highest point near Šetějovice. From there, there is a view of the 624-metre-high Šafranice mountain; in good weather, the view extends as far as Blaník.

History

The first written records of Šetějovice date back to 1333. Šetějovice was probably part of Svatavin Újezd, an estate of the Vyšehrad Chapter. A fire brigade has existed in Šetějovice since 1937; the fire station was also built in 1937.

Cycle route 0084 runs through Šetějovice between Dolní Kralovice and Hořice.
