Srbeč: Hotels and Accommodation

Srbeč lies in a picturesque valley in the Džbán Nature Park. The Bakovský potok stream flows through the village; Hájkovský rybník pond is part of the pond system in the Bakovský potok valley. South of the valley lies a harmonious agricultural landscape with a pastoral character.

History

The historic center of Srbeč is situated around a large village green. A fortress once stood in its center, later converted into a small château. The château, together with its farmyard, is a cultural monument and a multi-story Baroque building from the 18th century; it was originally a fortress.

Culture

The pilgrimage Church of the Holy Trinity was originally a Renaissance building from the 16th century and was remodeled in the Baroque style around 1700. The Church of Saint James the Elder is a single-nave Romanesque building and a cultural monument. Its present form dates from 1877 to 1880.

Café Otevřeno in the château in Srbeč also serves as a tourist information center and as an exhibition and concert venue.

Village Life

Srbeč's former brewery stood beside a pond that is now used as an outdoor swimming pool. During the summer months, an open-air restaurant regularly operates in the grounds of the local outdoor swimming pool.
