Starosedlský Hrádek: Hotels and Accommodations

The Zámecký rybník pond is also closely connected with the history of the village: it was created for fish farming in the 15th century and is still used for this purpose today. The stream and ponds therefore shape Starosedlský Hrádek’s geographical setting as well as its historical development.

The first written mention of Starosedlský Hrádek dates from 1376. The Renaissance château of Starosedlský Hrádek originally developed from a 15th-century fortress. Its exterior façades feature valuable sgraffiti from the 17th century.

Other historic buildings include the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, built at the end of the 16th century. Its well-preserved interior paintings were restored several years ago; services are occasionally held in the chapel. The small manorial granary is broadly dated to the second half of the 16th century. It has a uniquely well-preserved roof structure with a Renaissance suspended truss.

The Panský mlýn mill preserves the complete equipment of an artistic roller mill, a unique semi-artisanal installation, and a double mill frame. The mill can be visited by prior arrangement.

Starosedlský Hrádek château has not been open to the public in recent years. From Březnice, Starosedlský Hrádek can be reached via cycle route No. 8216. Along the route, the municipality also carried out a project to repair the statue dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk.
