Stranný: Hotels and Accommodation

A hiking trail runs through Stranný, continues via a wayside shrine (Boží muka), and returns to Neveklov; it is approximately 20 km long. A red-marked hiking route passes Provodná hora.

Trails and Landscape

A wayside shrine (Boží muka) from the mid-19th century stands near Stranný. Next to the wayside shrine above Stranný are a signpost and a rest area.

Remembrance and History

The memorial to those who fell in the First World War on Provodná was ceremonially unveiled on 18 September 1921. It bears the names of 26 local people who fell or died in the war from 1914 to 1918.

The memorial was erected on a hill above the village so that it would be visible from each of the ten settlements assigned to Stranný at the time. After its seizure, Stranný was used by the Prosečnice SS Panzer Grenadier School.

Surroundings

Konopiště Castle is located in the vicinity of Stranný. Jáchym and Vesely, both mountains, are also located nearby.

In the wider regional surroundings of Stranný are Malá Svatá Hora and Svatá Anna, both churches. Žebrák and Ďábel, both mountains, are also located there.

Transport

Road II/114 runs through Stranný and connects Benešov, Neveklov, Stranný, Nový Knín, and Dobříš.
