Tatce: Hotels and Accommodation

Tatce lies along the fourth stage of the Blaník–Říp pilgrimage route, while cycle route No. 109 runs directly through the village. The pilgrimage route is divided into seven stages and is just under 190 kilometres long. Another thematic connection is provided by the Tajuplná místa Podlipanska route: Tatce is stop 7, and the project includes 20 numbered information boards distributed at noteworthy locations and in various municipalities.

Nature and Routes

Tatce lies in a predominantly flat landscape. The individual stops along the Tajuplná místa Podlipanska route are several kilometres apart; therefore, the route is more suitable for motorists or cyclists.

History and Culture

The first written mention of Tatce dates back to 1292. The Za Mlýnem settlement is dated to around 900 BC, in the Late Bronze Age. Excavations there uncovered the skeletal graves of a child from the Early Bronze Age, approximately 2000–1550 BC, and a middle-aged woman from the Middle Bronze Age, approximately 1500–1300 BC.

The information boards of Tajuplná místa Podlipanska present local stories and legends associated with the respective locations, supplemented by photographs and further information. Tatce is also home to the Chapel of the Virgin Mary in the western part of the village. The rectangular chapel dates from 1843 and has a small structure for a bell.

Geographical Location

Road II/334 runs through Tatce and connects Sadská, Kouřim and Sázava. The village is also located on the Prague–Kolín railway line.
