Vinařice: Hotels and Accommodation

The cadastral area of Vinařice lies entirely within the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. A distinctive natural and geological feature of the locality can be seen at Vysoká skála south of Vinařice: the forested geological site contains natural outcrops and small old quarries. Vysoká skála is also a paleontological site; its protection is recommended within the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. Fossil-bearing limestones are exposed there, while surface karst features occur in the surrounding terrain.

Culture and History

Vinařice has a preserved urban structure and particularly high-quality original vernacular buildings. These include examples of timber-framed vernacular houses. Neoclassical masonry buildings are concentrated around the village square, which is also home to a Baroque chapel dating from the 18th century.

Bacín is home to a prehistoric cult site with a narrow karst fissure just below the summit. The Bacín plateau contains traces of settlement dating from the Palaeolithic through the Neolithic, Bronze Age and Hallstatt period to the Middle Ages.

Surroundings

The surroundings of Vinařice include Karlštejn Castle and the mountains of Doutnáč, Hradec and Plešivec. Malá Svatá Hora is a church near Vinařice. The wider region is home to Velký Chlum mountain and Týřov Castle, now a ruin.
