Culture and History
The first written mention of Vrančice dates from 1253; at that time, the settlement of Wrantsicz belonged to the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star.
The protected site comprises the Chapel of Our Lady and its associated plot of land. The chapel stands in the centre of Vrančice’s irregularly laid-out village green, between two old lime trees. It is a small rectangular building with a roof turret and can be dated to the first half of the 19th century.
The Boží muka in Vrančice are a granite wayside shrine in the form of a column, whose base bears the year 1781. They stand approximately 3 metres southwest in front of the entrance façade of the Chapel of Our Lady. The upper niche chapel of the Boží muka has recessed panels with a low relief of a Latin cross.
