Třesovice is located on the left bank of the Bystřice River and at the foot of Babylon Hill. The village therefore combines a clearly defined location by the water with prominent landmarks in its immediate and wider surroundings.

Culture and history

In Třesovice, the Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary is a cultural monument. The Madonna in Třesovice was transferred here from Sadová Castle. In Popovice, there is a two-storey water mill, which is a half-timbered building; its water inlet is lined with an avenue of willows. The memorial oak in Popovice is considered the oldest oak in the Hradec Králové Region.

The age of the oak in Popovice is estimated at 600 years. In the immediate vicinity of Třesovice are Dubina Hill [Střezetice], Sobětušský bor Hill [Nechanice-Sobětuš], and the hill (Na příbytkách) [Všestary-Lípa]. In the wider regional surroundings of Třesovice are Maxinec Mountain (MLázovický chlum) and the Church of Saint George.

The “In the Footsteps of Libraries” cycling route passes through Třesovice. In addition, a regular bus route between Hradec Králové and Nechanice used to run via Třesovice.

For Thursday, April 30, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m., the traditional “Burning of the Witches” event was scheduled to take place at the sports field in Třesovice, featuring a large fire and the opportunity to make your own broom.
